WHS Drama Club Field Trip to HADESTOWN in Philadelphia!
We are raising funds to send Woodstown High School students to see the Broadway tour of "Hadestown" in Philadelphia this December. For many of our students, this will be their first time seeing a professional production — an experience that will ignite lifelong passion, deepen their understanding of storytelling, and inspire their own creative journeys. Your donation not only defrays the cost of their ticket and bus transportation, but invests in their critical arts education.
Your donation is important and impactful. Woodstown High School students are passionate about performing in and designing theatre: We host three special events per year, our Fall Play (directed by students), our Spring Musical, and our Night of Dream Roles (Community, Alumni, and Student concert). Here's a glimpse at the long-term effects that the performing and technical arts have on students:
Higher Academic Performance: Studies show that students involved in the arts, including theatre, tend to have higher GPAs, better standardized test scores, and improved reading comprehension.
Stronger Social-Emotional Skills: Theatre builds empathy, collaboration, and confidence — skills that contribute to success not just in school, but in life.
Improved Attendance and Engagement: Arts-involved students are more likely to attend school regularly and feel connected to their learning environment.
Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Theatre requires analyzing scripts, understanding motivation, and thinking creatively — boosting cognitive flexibility and critical thinking.
